Day 1 of The Kindness Challenge

Day 1: What is commendable?

Thanks for joining us for the 30-Day Kindness Challenge! Here's your optional tip for today: What is something that your person did recently that is commendable? Compliment them on it. "You did a great job at that sales presentation last week." "The guys in the shop told me how well you handled that difficult customer." "The clients commented on how good the lunch was. Great job organizing quality food with such short notice and still staying within budget."

Coach's Corner: Kindness is made up of the three distinct elements that we will be practicing during the Challenge – avoiding negativity, expressing affirmation, and doing small actions of kindness and generosity.

Do you know which you already do well, and which you most need to work on? Many people don't. The Kindness Challenge research found that practicing all three elements daily is the best way to become aware. To monitor your progress, log in your observation notebook what you try each day, what happens, and what you think works best as you go. Also: If you can do so without alerting your person to your efforts, use #JoinKindness to post your observations and get the advice of others.

Here's a quick video to encourage you as you kick off YOUR Challenge!

The 30-Day Kindness Challenge is brought to you via our partnership with Shaunti Feldhahn, and is based on her research for The Kindness Challenge.
