Day 2: What is your wife doing today?
What is your wife doing today? Same-old-same-old, or something different? Whatever it is, text or call her during the day and ask her specifically how so-and-so went today.
Why does this matter? 75% of all women on the surveys said that it deeply pleases them when you text or even leave a voice mail during the day to say you are thinking about her. Showing that you are thinking about her, even at work, is code for "I love you."
Coach's corner:
Tonight — or whenever you have your 15 minutes of full-attention listening — follow up on what she told you in that call today. If your wife tends to be talkative and you're worried about being able to listen well beyond 15 minutes, perhaps preface the question with, "I've got to get Brandon to bed in about 15 minutes but before I do, I wanted to hear what happened with _____."
This husband can reassure you: it matters!
"I never told my wife I was doing this, because I didn't want her to think, You're only complimenting me because you have to, or anything like that. But still, after about the first week and a half, out of the blue one day my wife said, "I really like that when we see each other at the end of the day, you show up and listen. It makes me feel good."
