Day 16. Public praise
Today, look for a way to sincerely praise your person in front of their boss, teacher, parent, or someone whose opinion really matters to them. ("Yeah, Ben's great at putting things together, isn't he? He's actually been building this outdoor fireplace in his backyard that is so cool all the neighbors keep coming over to look at it...")
Coach's Corner: Affirming someone in public usually magnifies the impact of praise. As long as it is sincere and appropriate to the situation, even the most behind-the-scenes type person deeply appreciates being bragged about every now and then. (If you're keeping a gift journal, write down not only your public brag, but the public reaction you saw when you said those affirming things.)
