Day 11 of the Kindness Challenge!

Day 11: Return the kindness

How does your child typically show kindness to others? Are they quick to give valuable information? Do they enjoy helping with tasks? Are they great at listening? Do they often share encouraging words? Whatever they give is probably what they want to receive.

Take note of it in your notebook and give your child's form of kindness back to them. Tidy up their bedroom while they're at school today. Put down your phone to look at them while they're telling you about something that happened at school. Give them a big hug or a high five. Verbally encourage them in their schoolwork, music lessons, or sports practice.

Coach's Corner: Dr. Gary Chapman's book The Five Love Languages (and its multiple versions) demonstrates that people tend to give the type of love or appreciation they want to receive. Use your child's actions as a signal to discover what is important to them and log it in your personal notebook to remind you to give it more often.
