Day 23. Being attuned to what is going on
What does your person have going on today? If you're physically in the same place (home, office) leave a sticky note of encouragement about it where they will see it ("Praying for your big discussion today!")—or if you're physically separated, email, text or call them about it ("OK, thanks for those sales numbers. And by the way, do you still have that new client meeting? Hope that goes well for you.")
Coach's Corner: Although focusing on the other person is an act of thoughtfulness and selflessness, it also tends to lead the other person to think the best of you. As Dale Carnegie first observed in his landmark book How to Win Friends and Influence People, when you focus on another person in conversation or attention ("Tell me about how your project is going."), that person will think you are the best conversationalist ever!
