Day 30: Finishing the course set before you
CONGRATULATIONS! Today, give yourself kudos for finishing the course! Take the final kindness assessment to see how far you've come.
Now consider: what habit would your wife most want you to keep doing? Listening for 15 minutes? Telling her the things you enjoy about her? Doing a little act of kindness? Which habit had the most impact on your happiness, your wife's happiness, or both? Pick what you want most to keep going – and resolve to do so!
Coach's corner:
Send yourself a text or email every day or two with "next steps"– which will make you more likely to do them. For example: "give her gift journal on our date night next Friday" or "continue to listen for 15 minutes a day."
If you have been doing this Challenge with a group, schedule a group get-together or another way to touch base and see how the habit of kindness is going. This will help to turn the habit into a lifestyle.
Also, is there someone else with whom you want a better relationship? Consider starting the challenge again and focusing on the next person along. You'll see that it is much easier now that you've already become a person of kindness.
